George T. Roarson
On September 14, 1947, George was united in marriage to Ellen Marie Bargfrede in Petersburg, MN. The couple made their home in Excelsior Township where George began farming. After George retired in 1980, they moved to Lake Park where he worked for the Silver Lake Cemetery for seven years. In 1997, the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their many relatives at the Salem Lutheran Church. George was a long time gardener at Concordia Lutheran Church and assisted many senior citizens in Lake Park. He also drove for Dinner Date and was always lending a helping hand to friends and neighbors. George was a member of the Lake Park Lions Club, the American Legion, and Concordia Lutheran Church of Lake Park. George passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at the Lake Park Care Center at eighty-nine years of age. He is survived by his sister Gladys Johnson of Milford, a brother, Norman Roarson of Lake Park; sister-in-law, Alma Hasbarger of Jackson, MN; sister-in-law, Maxine Bargfrede; a special friend, Myrna Matthiesen, and .many nieces and nephews.
