George L. Nebelsick George Louis Nebelsick was born on May 6, 1921 in Hanson County, South Dakota to Louis Daniel and Habie Heronimus Nebelsick. He attended school in Farmer, South Dakota and graduated from Farmer Consolidated High School in 1939. George spent his childhood on a farm near Alexandria, South Dakota. After high school graduation he moved to Ashton, Iowa where he worked on a farm. He was united in marriage to Eunice Kruger on May 4, 1945 in Sibley, Iowa. They farmed near Sibley until 1951 when they moved to a farm by Harris, Iowa. George farmed, raised livestock, did custom feed grinding and livestock and grain hauling until his retirement. They moved to Lake Park in October 2002. George had a great sense of humor and loved to joke with family and friends. He was an avid bowler and was a member of leagues in Sibley and Lake Park and attended many tournaments through the years. He spent many hours playing cards with friends and family. He drove a school bus for a number of years and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in school and church activities. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park and served as an Elder and Deacon. He served as the Sunday School Superintendent at the Trinity Reformed Church in Sibley, Iowa for many years. He was a member of the Lions Club and was active in the Farm Bureau during his working years. George is survived by his wife, Eunice of Lake Park; daughters, Patricia Forbes of Lake Park, IA; Joyce Schwartz (Larry) of Spirit Lake, IA.; Paula McKenna (Ken) of Oxford, IA; Marilee Tagg (John) Encinitas, CA and Janet Nebelsick, Shakopee, MN; sons, Clif, De Kalb, IL; Calvin (Gillian) Lake Park, IA; Keith (Sue) Spirit Lake; two brothers, Duane (Marge) Alexandria, SD; Earl (Rowena) Howard, SD; four sisters, Adelin Montgomery, Greenwood, IN; Virginia (Dale) Tutje, Urbana, IL; Ivadell (Will) Hafemeyer, Faribault, MN; Ivadean Nebelsick, Canistota, SD; sisters-in-law Lillian (Roland) Frey, Worthington, MN and Melissa Nebelsick, Louisville, KY; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Leonard and Harold; son-in-law, Douglas Forbes, granddaughter, Tansy Forbes, three infant siblings and three infant grandchildren.
