Charles Mast

Charles Elmer Mast was born to Elmer and Clara (Gipson) Mast on September 6, 1942 at Primghar, Iowa.

He graduated from Primghar High School in 1960 and attended the University of Iowa until he joined the U. S. Navy. He was a Vietnam Naval Officer and remained in the reserves until 1968. In addition to Primghar and Iowa City, Charlie lived in Milford before moving to Spirit Lake in 2000.

He was married to Caroline Howard in 1970 at Iowa City.

Charlie was a member of the Milford Baptist church and was an A. A. Mentor. Other interests were fishing, furniture refinishing and ministry to those in need, especially encouraging them with his hope and faith in Christ.

Charles died Sunday, April 9 at Hilltop Care Center.

Surviving are his daughter Anne Marie Mast and her husband, Chad Dipman, their son, Tan Dipman of Minneapolis; sons, Richard and Michael Mast of New York, NY; brother, Calvin Mast of Primghar; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
