Carol Mason

Carol Ann Mason was born February 17, 1950, the daughter of Elizabeth and Birney Krebs. Carol was raised and educated in Lake Park, graduating from Harris Lake Park High School in 1968. While in school, she was active in choir as well as band, where she played the french horn. Upon graduation, Carol attended Spencer School of Business.

Carol was united in marriage to Ray Mason in 1970. The couple made their home in Winkleman, Arizona, where she gave birth to her only child, Gretchen in 1971. While in Winkleman, Carol taught kindergarten and was a town magistrate. In 1978, the family moved to Tucson. Carol began her career in the medical field which covered 21 years. Carol’s career led her to become the office manager of a successful allergist office in Tucson as well as a board member of PCAP (Pima Community Access Program). In addition, she taught Sunday School, sung in the church choir and helped revive a missionettes program.

Upon learning of her recent illness, Carol moved to Minnesota to live with her daughter’s family and be close to the University Medical Facilities. Carol passed away Saturday, November 11, 2006 at her home in Minneapolis at fifty-six years of age.

She is survived by her mother Elizabeth; husband, Ray; daughter, Gretchen Minton and her husband David; grandchildren, Katelyn and Meredith; siblings, Mary Sloan (Ken), Jean Berge (Steven), Ruth Bates and Robert Krebs (Jill); several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Birney.
