Charles Philip Coy was born on November 25, 1922 in Ames Iowa. He entered the US Army Air Corps in 1942, serving until receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1945.

Charles was united in marriage to Erma Davenport on July 5, 1952 in Jackson, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Ames, Iowa where he worked as a mason. He has lived in Spirit Lake since 1989, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Charles passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at his home in Spirit Lake at eighty three-years of age.

He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Arends; grandchildren Shalonda and Loney Arends; and great grandchildren Phandra, Dravin and April as well as other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma, brother, Al and nephew, Jim Elwick.
