Alva Hamann

Funeral services for Alva Hamann, 97, of Lake Park will be held 1:30 PM, Tuesday, October 3 at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens in Worthington. She passed away September 27 at Arvada. CO.

Alva Ida Hamann was born November 20, 1907 in Jackson County, Minnesota, the daughter of Julius and Emma (Puck) Wiese. She graduated from Sioux Valley High School, Sioux Valley, MN.

Alva was united in marriage to Louis Hamann in Round Lake Township on February 12, 1929. The couple made their home near Round Lake where they farmed until 1968 when they retired and moved to Lake Park. Louis passed away in 1975.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Donald, and his wife, Betty, Lake Park, IA; her daughter, Delores and her husband, John Bond, Arvada, CO; her daughter-in-law, Janean Hamann, Fort Collins, CO; foster sister, Winona Droll, Worthington, MN; five grandchildren, Claudette (Daniel) Luitjens, Carolyn (Michael) Rolph, Brian Bond, Matthew Bond and Renie (Michael) Staiano and two great granddaughters, Laura and Michelle Staiano.

Alva was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. She was also a member of United Presbyterian Women, American Legion Auxiliary, Royal Neighbors Lodge, Silver Lake Cemetery Society and formerly of the Presbyterian Women of Round Lake.

Alva was preceded in death by her husband Louis, son, Dale, her parents, two brothers, Gilbert and Wilbert and a nephew, Lyle.
