Robert “Bob” Wingrove

Robert “Bob” Wingrove was born on June 10, 1946 in Denison, Iowa, the son of Bryce and Ella (Retman) Wingrove.  He graduated from Dow City High School and was enlisted in the National Guard.

Bob was united in marriage to Mary Jo Heller on Dec. 19, 1970 in Dunlap, Iowa.  The couple made their home in Denison along with their two children, Tami and Scott.  Bob worked as a laborer at Farmland Foods in Denison for thirty-five years.  Bob and Mary Jo moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa in 2001 where Bob worked as a sales associate at Wal-Mart for the past 3 years.  Bob attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spirit Lake.

Some of Bob’s interests included farming, camping, boating, antiques and gardening.  He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

Bob passed away August 29, 2005 at his home in Spirit Lake at fifty-nine years of age.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Jo of Spirit Lake, IA, daughter, Tami Hed and her husband Josh of Chaska, MN; son, Scott Wingrove and his wife Jennifer of Apple Valley, MN; grandchildren, Emily and Molly Hed; sister, JoAnn Reisz and her husband Ralph; sister-in-laws, Sharon Morris and her husband Bob, Bonnie Jean Schanou and her husband Cort, Nancy LeMaster and her husband Frank; brother-in-law, Larry Heller and his wife Deb. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryce and Ella Wingrove; mother-in-law, Bonnie Heller and father-in-law, Lawrence Heller.
