Rosemary BaackRosemary Ann Baack was born to Jacob and Anna (Herman) Fisch at Milford, Iowa on October 29, 1921. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School through the tenth grade and graduated from Milford High School in 1939. In the 1930’s during her teens she worked on an ice cream boat that sold ice cream at various stops on Lake Okoboji. She also sold tickets at the Strand Theatre in Milford, and was a sales clerk at Palmer’s Variety Store. It was while working at the theatre she met the love of her life, Emory Baack whose parents ran the old Hix café next to the theater. On August 26, 1941 she married Emory Baack in Milford. Mrs. Baack died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the Milford Nursing Center at 83 years of age. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Rosary Altar Society and church circles. She enjoyed card playing, scrabble, games, baking, family get-togethers, camping and drive-in movies. Rosemary is survived by two daughters, Maureen Welborn and her husband Harold, of Gold Beach, OR and Peggy Roberts and her husband, Jerry of Spencer; four sons: Mick Baack and his wife, Jeannette of Milford, Mark Baack and his wife, Earline of Plano, TX, Richard Baack and his wife, Sheila of Plano, TX, Jim Baack and his wife, Becky of Rochester, MN; daughter in law, Susan (Dennis) Baack of Murphy, Texas seventeen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. Surviving also is her brother, Bob Fisch and his wife, Helen of San Diego, CA and sister in law, Evelyn (Otto) Fisch of Norwalk, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Emory in 1997, son, Dennis, sister, Marguerite Buchholz, and brother, Otto Fisch.
