Porter G. Untiedt

Graveside services for Porter G. Untiedt will be held 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 1, 2005 at the Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park, Iowa.

Porter Grant Untiedt was born August 30, 1942 in Spirit Lake, Iowa the son of Julius “Jack” and Myrtly (Hegre) Untiedt.  He was raised and educated in Lake Park, graduating from Lake Park High School.  He then attended Northwestern College in Orange City for a year. Porter entered the US Army in 1964, serving in Germany until receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1968. 

He was united in marriage to Marjorie Mary Lamb on October 7, 1969.

Porter lived in Rigby, Idaho, Chicago, Illinois and Schaumburg, Illinois, where he worked as a lithographer/pressman.  He has lived in Lake Park since 2002.

He was affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, and was a lifelong member of the NRA.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Porter passed away Saturday, June 25, 2005 at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at sixty-two years of age.

He is survived by his son Jonathon Untiedt; grandchildren Taylor Morgan, Jacob Grant; brothers, Miles and William Nolan; and a sister, Sybil.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jules Untiedt.

Turner Funeral Home of Lake Park was in charge of service arrangements.
