Larry Goetsch

Larry Goetsch was born November 30, 1937 in Terril, IA, born to Elmer and Hilda Probst Goetsch. He graduated from Spirit Lake High School. He then joined the United States Air Force where he served from July 1955 to July 1959.

On December 10, 1959 he married Alice Taylor at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Larry was a mechanic for Jeck Motors Company for twenty years and Ditsworth Motors for twelve years. He then became foreman for the Dickinson County Road Maintenance Crew. He was forced to retire in 1997 due to health reasons.

Larry was a great mechanic, loved bowling, golf, fishing, hunting, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. One of Larry’s greatest joys was spending time with his grandsons.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Alice of 45 years; son Larry A. and his wife Laura L., grandsons Wyatt and Austin of Eau Claire, WI; sisters Dorothy Tenney and Debra Letscher and her husband George of Spirit Lake; brothers, Wayne and his wife Sandy, Bob and his wife Irene and Rick, all of Spirit Lake; sister-in-law Billie Goetsch and brother-in-law Clair Taylor and his wife Dorothy of Ogden, UT; many nieces and nephews as well as a host of good friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law, Lakin Tenney and Marvin Goetsch.
