Larry Beer Larry Russell Beer was born December 8, 1936, the son of Wayne and Lois (Russell) Beer at Numa, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Numa. He entered the US Army in 1959, until receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1962. Larry was united in marriage to Beverly Daugherty on June 1, 1958 at Numa. The couple then moved to Spirit Lake, where he worked for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources as a fisheries technician. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading. Most of all, however, he enjoyed spending time with this grandchildren and family. Larry passed away February 27, 2005 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at sixty-eight years of age. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, of Spirit Lake; daughter, Kimberly Buhr, and her husband, Eugene; grandson, Tristan Buhr, granddaughters, Jillian and Elsa Buhr, all of Terril. He is also survived by a sister, Sandra Knott and her husband, Kermit, of Seymour, Iowa; several cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Lois Beer.
