Karla Lind

Karla Kay Lind was born February 20, 1946 to Ewan Watrous and Ceceile Birchard Watrous at Spencer, Iowa.  Her parents divorced and when she was eight years old her mother married Mick Noteboom and he has been her dad for 51 years.  She received most of her education in Milford and graduated from Milford High School in 1965.  She attended Larson's School of Cosmetology in Spencer and became a licensed beautician.

On January 21, 1968 she was united in marriage to Gary Lind.  Two sons were born to this union.  They are Stacy of Dickens and Brian of Milford.  Her employment included beautician, factory worker and most recently a hostess for the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum.  However, her most important role was that of homemaker and mother.

Mrs. Lind died Sunday, June 12, 2005 at the McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at 59 years of age.

She is survived by her husband, Gary, son, Stacy and his fiancée, Chelle Nance, and son Brian.  Also her dad Mick and Karleen “Little Mother” Noteboom, sister, Evon Loontjer of Spencer and brother, Mick Noteboom and his wife, Julie of Champaign, Illinois.  She is also survived by five grandchildren, one great grandchild, many nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her birth parents and her father-in-law, Alden Lind.
