James D. Schuneman

James D. Schuneman was born June 3, 1934 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Joseph and Maxine (Plymesser) Schuneman.  He graduated from high school in Milford.  James entered the US Air Force and served during the Korean War.

On May 31, 1951 James was united in marriage to Karen Sue Hummel at Ardmore, Oklahoma.

James was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake.  He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.  He also enjoyed Hawkeye Football.

James passed away September 30, 2005 at Lakes Regional Heath Care in Spirit Lake at seventy-one years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Schuneman of Spirit Lake; children, James A. Schuneman and his wife Alice of Grand Island, Nebraska, Don Schuneman and his wife Marilyn of Omaha, Nebraska, Kenneth Schuneman and his wife Glori of Algona, Iowa, Deb Pecha and her husband Bob of Council Bluffs, IA; nineteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; his mother, Maxine Schuneman of Milford, Iowa.

James was preceded in death by his father Joseph Schuneman and his brother, Robert Schuneman.
