Florence Parks

Florence Nina Parks was born to Pliny and Diana (Hitsman) Chase at Park River, North Dakota.

On February 28, 1933 she was united in marriage to Thomas P. Parks at Spencer, Iowa. The couple resided in Spencer. Mr. Parks died in 1944. In years following her husband’s death Florence moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Florence worked for Bell and Mountain States Telephone for over thirty years.

Florence moved to Milford in 1999 to be near her family. She died Saturday, April 30, 2005 at the Community Health Center in Hartley where she has been residing since March of 2002.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Reading and crossword puzzles were favorite leisure time activities.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Betty Parks of Milford, one granddaughter, Juli Rouse, three grandsons, Ron Parks and his wife, Amy, Tom Parks, and Steve Parks, one great granddaughter, Rebecca Rouse, one great grandson, Nathan Parks, and one great great granddaughter, Kaydence Doran in addition to other relatives and friends.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas, two sons, Duane and Bruce, three brothers, Herbert, Lawrence, and Neal, and three sisters, Evelyn, Ruth and Ethel.
