Evelyn M. McClurg Evelyn Margaret McClurg, the daughter of George and Loretta (Casey) Kuhn, was born on August 13, 1914 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Her family moved to Montana for five years and after her father passed away, the family returned to Spirit Lake where she lived the remainder of her life. She attended the Spirit Lake Schools. On April 23, 1936, she was united in marriage to Duard McClurg in Spirit Lake. Evelyn supported her husband on the farm and also worked several years at Stylecraft in Milford. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spirit Lake and was a member of the Rosary Society. Evelyn enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center, gardening, baking, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. Evelyn passed away at her home in Spirit Lake on November 1, 2005 at ninety-one years of age. She is survived by her son Edward Carlyle McClurg of Spirit Lake; daughters, Karen Sangl and her husband Lonney of Wahpeton, Mary McClurg of Spirit Lake; grandchildren, Melissa Sebastian and her husband Kevin of Everly, Dan McClurg and his wife Katie of Clear Lake, Susan Lynn and her husband Todd of Spirit Lake, Sandra McClurg of Estherville, Julie Wurr and her husband Bill of Laurens, Keith Sangl and his friend Vicki Lupkes of Spirit Lake; great-grandchildren, Ashley Grubb, Michael Grubb, Danial McClurg and his wife Carrie, Michael McClurg, Kelli Craig, Brittany, Erin and Tyler Lynn, Megan and Nicholas McClurg, Adam Wurr and Mitchell Sangl; great-great grandson, Bryce McClurg; niece Betty Goodell and nephew Lynn McClurg. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Duard; her brothers, George, Kenneth and Edward; a sister, Mary; daughter-in-law, Karen McClurg and a great grandson, Spencer Wurr.
