Clarence Reiman

Clarence Reiman was born on August 17, 1915 at Milford, Iowa to John and Josephine (Uhlenkamp) Reiman.  He grew up on a farm southeast of Milford.  He attended St Joseph School. 

Clarence enlisted in the US Navy in September, 1941, serving during WWII in the South Pacific, until receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1945.

Clarence was united in marriage to Vivian Meyer on June 26, 1944 at Cleveland, Ohio.  Upon Clarence’s return from the service, the couple made their home in rural Milford, where they farmed and raised their family.  In 1977, he retired from farming and moved into Milford.  He worked for a farmer until 2001, when his health forced him to quit.

Clarence was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford.  He was also a sixty-year member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion

Clarence passed away Monday, August 22, 2005 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at ninety years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian of Milford; a daughter, Kathy Hesseltine of Milford; and sons David Reiman of Milford, Jim Reiman and his wife Sue, of Milford, and Don Reiman and his wife Bev, of Geneva, Nebraska; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  He is also survived by three sisters, Loretta Fogarty of West Bend, Dorothy Montag of Nora Springs, and Gertude Wedel of Spencer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bernard, sister, Clara Mohr, and a granddaughter, Jennifer.
