Clara Finnern

Clara Louise Weise Finnern, Lake Park, IA, formerly of Sioux Valley, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at Lake Park Care Center at ninety years of age.

Born November 17, 1914 in Rushmore, MN, she was the daughter of Paul and Emma Wiese. She married Arthur Finnern on October 1, 1934 in Round Lake, MN.

After marriage the couple farmed in Sioux Valley. In 1955 they moved to Worthington where she was employed with the Fauskee Nursing Home. They moved to Arnolds Park in 1983. After the death of her husband, she moved to Lake Park and upon failing health moved to Lake Park Care Center. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Sioux Valley.

Surviving are one son, Gordon Finnern and his wife Shirley, Sioux Valley, and their four children, Randy and Scott Finnern, the late Vicki VanderVeen, and Jodi Sandbulte; one daughter, Deanna Smith, Sheldon, IA, and her two children Jim Smith and Krista Serrao; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Walter and four sisters, Lillie, Ella, Hertha, and Paula.

The funeral service was held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sioux Valley, Rev. Marvin Soulek officiating, with the burial at Memory Gardens in Worthington, MN.
