Clarence J. Christenson

Clarence James Christenson was born to James and Augusta (Wollmuth) Christenson in Harris, Iowa, on December 10, 1911.

On February 26, 1934, he was united in marriage to Lillian Thompson. The couple farmed around the Harris and Ocheyedan area. They moved to Lake Park where Clarence was employed by the Lake Park Farmers Exchange Elevator and after retirement, he worked at Arco.

Clarence was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He enjoyed watching sports, mainly the Braves. Clarence was a member of the Odds Fellow Lodge, served in the Lake Park Fire Department and also was Fire Chief. Clarence was a member of the United Methodist Church.

ith several of his children at his side on Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at the Lake Park Care Center. He was ninety-three years of age.

His wife, Lillian, passed away on January 4, 2005. His parents, James and Augusta Christenson; one sister, Marguerite Grimmius; and four brothers, Lester, Edwin, Cecil, George and a daughter-in-law Beverly, preceded him in death.

He is survived by one sister, June Allen, of Shoreview, MN; seven children, Allen of Council Bluffs, IA; James of San Diego, CA; Joyce Paulson and her husband, Ken, of Windom, MN; Marshall and his wife, Barbara, of Fort Worth, TX; Stanley of Lake Park; Leanna Hacker and her husband, Darrell, of Manassas, VA; and Roberta Thorn and her husband, Steve, of Lake Park; 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, as well as many very good friends.
