Ruth Ann Martinson

Ruth Ann Martinson was born January 1, 1937 at Lucas Township, Lyon County, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Evelyn Louise (Frank) Barck. She was raised and educated near Cottonwood, Minnesota.

On May 21, 1960, Ruth Ann was united in marriage to Duane “Marty” Martinson in Watertown, South Dakota. Marty’s work on the high line brought the family to various areas of the country, until moving to Okoboji in 1972.

Ruth Ann was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake. She enjoyed arts & crafts, latch-hook, ceramics, and pull-tabs.

She passed away Monday, January 26, 2004 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at sixty-seven years of age.

Left to survive are her sons, Duane Carlson and his fiancée Julie, and Larry Martinson, all of Milford; grandchildren, Penny O’Connell and Clay Carlson; brothers, Harlan Barck and his wife Dorothy, and Al Barck and his wife Tanny; nephews, nieces, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Evelyn Barck.
