Ronald Lev Ronald Ray Lev was born in Jackson, Minnesota on July 31, 1948, the son of Cecil and Norma Lev. Ron went to Hunter Township Country School by Lakefield, Minnesota until third grade when the family moved to Lake Park, where Ron graduated from Harris-Excelsior-Lake Park High School in 1966. After high school he worked construction until joining the US Navy in February 1968. In January 1970, Ron married Denise Hemmingson and to this union one daughter, Shawna, was born in March 1973. They were stationed in Newfoundland, before being transferred to Mayport, Florida, where he was assigned to the USS Roosevelt, serving in the Mediterranean. He returned to Jacksonville, Florida where he was stationed until his discharge in 1976. Ron was an active member of the American Legion, and Elder and Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Park. He was the Gas Superintendent fro the Lake Park Municipal Utilities for the past eighteen years. His hobbies included restoring cars, woodworking, hunting, playing with his grandchildren, house remodeling and visiting with his family. Ron will always be remembered as a generous spirit. He touched a great many lives – family, friends and members of his church and community. On May 16, 2004 he was sent to Heaven. He was survived by his wife Denise; daughter Shawna Hamm and her husband Jeff of Spirit Lake; granddaughters Emma and Gracie Rae; parents Cecil and Norma Lev of Lake Park; sisters Sharlene Eckard and husband Russ of Okoboji, Karen Hanbury and husband Paul of Worthington, Minnesota; brother John Lev and wife Becky of Lake Park; grandmother, Ethel Lev of Lake Park; mother-in-law, Evelyn Hemmingson of Lake Park; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron was preceded in death by his father-in-law Jerome Hemmingson. grandfathers, William Lev and Emil Wunder, grandmother Emma Wunder and step-grandmother Lillian Wunder.
