Myra Waugh

Myra Adelia Waugh was born January 15, 1906, the daughter of George and Alta May (Winslow) Marchant near Panora and Bagley, Iowa. Myra graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1924.

She was united in marriage to Lionel W. Waugh on February 4, 1926. The couple lived most of their life around Spirit Lake.

Myra was a member of the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake. She was active in the church visiting hospitalized members, which she enjoyed. She was also active in Rebecca Lodge, Lakeview Cemetery Society, Dinner Date, and was a board member for Senior Citizens.

Myra passed away Sunday, February 8, 2004 at her home in Spirit Lake at ninety-eight years of age.

She is survived by her son, Lionel C. “Bud” Waugh of Lawton, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Jo Waugh of Amarillo, Texas; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Myra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and son, William J. “Bill” Waugh.
