Mildred Sindt

Mildred Sindt was born July 19, 1910, at Sharon Center, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Kate (Lackender) Ressler.

Mildred was united in marriage to Herbert P. Sindt on September 24, 1955 at the Methodist Camp in Spirit Lake. The couple made their home in Spirit Lake, where Mildred worked as a teacher, homemaker and a social worker for Dickinson County.

Mildred was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lake Park.

Upon retirement, Mildred volunteered and was presented with many citations for her hours in the Dickinson County Hospital and Senior Center. She was an avid quilter and helped make many of the quilts offered off in the area. She was a very compassionate person who worked behind the scenes helping those in need.

Mildred passed away May 30, 2004 at Friendship Haven in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, where she had resided for the past nine years, at ninety-three years of age.

Left to survive are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Herbert, in 1971.
