LaVonne Willemssen
On February 18, 1941, LaVonne was united in marriage to Claude Willemssen in Spirit Lake, Iowa. The couple made their home near Terril, Iowa, where they raised their children, Linda and Dennis. LaVonne was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. She loved yard work, gardening and her family. LaVonne passed away on March 13, 2004 at Milford Nursing Center in Milford at eighty-two years of age. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Dingel and her husband David, of Terril; son, Dennis Willemssen and his wife Linda of Charles City, Iowa; granddaughters, Darci Schumacher, Darilea Fehr, Nancy Klatt, Judith Willemssen and Susan Willemssen; six great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Delores Wickert of Ringsted, Iowa; sister-in-law, Barbara Kathman of Greattinger; several nieces, nephews and friends. LaVonne
Willemssen was born March 6, 1922 in Estherville, Iowa, the
daughter of Joseph and Nettie Kathman. She was raised and educated
in Dickinson County, graduating from Excelsior High School in 1939.
