Lulu Mae Dunham Lulu Mae Dunham was born to Edward and Lottie (Bowen) Donovan at Little Rock, Iowa on April 14, 1912. She obtained her education through the 11th grade at Spirit Lake, Iowa. She was married to Velde Griffin and Parker G. Dunham. Lulu Mae did seamstress work for Carpenter Interiors in Spirit Lake. She also worked at the hardware store and Ben Franklin store in Spirit Lake. She was a homemaker most of her life and her greatest interest was in her family particularly her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Since March of 2003 Lulu Mae has been a resident at the Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake. She passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2004 at the Lakes Regional Hospital in Sprit Lake. She was 92 years of age. She was a member of the Union Memorial Church. She is survived by two sons, Perry Griffin of Spirit Lake, IA and Parker Dunham and his wife, Barbara of Pea Ridge, AR, seven grandchildren; four step grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, eleven step great grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren. Survivors also include two brothers, Stanley Donovan of Phoenix, AZ and Edward Donovan and his wife, Virgene of Spirit Lake. Preceding her in death were husbands, Velde Griffin, and Parker G. Dunham two sons, Charles Griffin in infancy and Kenneth Griffin, four brothers, Donald, Floyd, Wayne and Perry, four sisters, Larene Magnuson, Myrel Lewis, Ethel Leyson, and Pearl Schultz.
