Johanna Wittrock

Johanna Julia Wittrock was born to John and Rose (Rickerl) Geraets at Dell Rapids, South Dakota on September 10, 1915.

On November 28, 1939 she was united in marriage to George Joseph Wittrock at Dell Rapids, South Dakota and to this union four children were born. In addition to caring for her family she worked many years as a food prep chef at Teeges Supper Club and the Milford American Legion Club.

Since April of 2001 Hon has been making her home at the Milford Nursing Center where she died Thursday at 88 years of age.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Theresa’s Circle and the Church Quilter’s Club.

Mrs. Wittrock is survived by two daughters, Rose Simpson, and her husband, Dale of Marathon, IA, Mary Kane and her husband, Martin of Lee’s Summit, MO; two sons, Jim and his wife, Janie, and D.J. all of Milford; twelve grandchildren, Brenda Pomeroy, Tami Horsman, Staci Jones, Melissa Hanna, Bruce, Terry & Scott Simpson, Jeff, Joe, & Jackie Wittrock, and Matthew & Patrick Kane; and fourteen great grandchildren. Survivors also include two sisters, Agnes (Dale) Schmiesing, Garretson, SD, and Roseann (Joe) Slinger of Hardwick, MN and one brother, Vincent (Mary Lou), Mobridge, SD.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1993, two sisters, Kay and Marie, and seven brothers, James, John, Charles, George, Peter, Clarence and Leonard.
