John “Bob” Sealey John “Bob” Sealey was born on July 29, 1946 in Venice, California, the son of Ruby and Robert Sealey. He passed away on March 13, 2004 at fifty seven-years of age. He is survived by his wife, Linda Mae; mother, Ruby Abbot of Truth-or-Consequences, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Sharon London and several nieces and nephews. Bob entered the US Marines in 1965, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was wounded twice, receiving two Purple Hearts. His lifetime career was in the trucking industry, as an owner\operator in California, and with Kroger and Nissan in Nashville, Tennessee. Bob met Linda when she was at the Lei Aloha celebrating her birthday in 1978. It started their beautiful romance that developed in to a marriage after Cheri Cook and her finance Dick Petersen came to visit in 1981. Cheri was discussing her upcoming wedding plans and asked when Bob and Linda were going to do the same. That led to their double wedding on Valentine’s Day in 1982. Bob overcame allergies of animals because it was a necessity to spending the rest of his life with Linda as she always had cats and dogs in her life, and still does. The Sealey household includes one large dog, Bogi and eight cuddly cats. Football and golf were Bob’s favorite pastimes. Watching football and playing golf. He and Linda and their California friends traveled all over California, playing different courses, even going to Hawaii for golf. He enjoyed playing the Okoboji’s courses after Linda brought him back to meet her extended family. Yard projects were also planned for Spring. The fish in the pond have been multiplying so he was going to build a bigger pond. The pond is right next to the deck and pool where Bob enjoyed spending much of his time during the warm months. He was really looking forward to some warm spring days so he could reopen the pool. May 12 was the day to get into the pool for the Sealey family. Bob was a true Christian, attending Masses every Sunday morning. His spirit may have left us, but he will be remembered by his many friends and family forever.
