Forrest C. Robinson

Forrest Carl Robinson was born May 8, 1927 to Kenneth and Mildred (Van Winkle) Robinson in Richland Township, Dickinson County, Iowa. He attended school in Arnolds Park.

On August 16, 1946 he was married to Thora Cother at Arnolds Park. They lived in Arnolds Park. Forrest was retired after a lifetime career with Iowa Electric Light and Power. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker and was a longtime member of the Arnolds Park Fire Dept.

He served briefly in the U. S. Navy during WW 2. He enlisted, then the war ended soon after his enlistment.

Forrest enjoyed spending time with his family. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Their joys became his joys. Forrest always enjoyed working with horses. Also, playing cards with his wife, son and grandson was a favorite pastime. He liked to drive around the Lakes Area and observe the wildlife. Saturday night was always reserved for John Deere Bandwagon and polka music. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Death came to Forrest on December 10 at his home.

Surviving are his loving wife and companion of 57 years, Thora: son, Jim, and his wife, Theresa, of Arnolds Park; daughter, Donna, and her husband Jerry Erickson, of Terril; sister, Hazel Bath of Langdon; grandchildren, Thonda, Greg, Jennifer, Michelle and Kristi; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judith Marie, parents and infant sister, Lillie.
