Floyd Lamb Floyd Wayne Lamb, of Milford, was born March 4, 1912 to Ray and Carrie Hardy Lamb. He attended school in Excelsior Township. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Floyd married Margaret McDonald in 1933. To this marriage, two children, Donald and Colleen, were born. Margaret preceded him in death due to and auto accident in August of 1941. Later he married Gladys Wede. They had one daughter, Kathy. They farmed northwest of Milford. Floyd served on the Lakeville Township School Board and as Township Assessor. In 1941 they moved into Milford. Floyd was involved in several businesses including a bowling alley and restaurant. In 1959 Floyd and Gladys purchased Miller Bay Store. They turned this business into one of the more popular restaurants in the Lakes area. They sold the business in 1976 and continued working there until Gladys passed away in 1982. Floyd enjoyed playing cards and Christmas with his grandchildren. He passed away October 14, 2004 at Milford Nursing Center where he had resided for 4 ½ years. He is survived by his three children, Don (Gloria) Lamb of Milford, Colleen Simmons of Ft. Myers, FL and Kathy (Kenny) Christensen of Waterloo, NE; his special friend Clementine Anderson, Milford, IA; grandchildren, Vickie (Michael) Wolff, Spring Lake Park, MN, Steve (Mollie) Lamb, Milford, Mary Beth (Tim) McCabe, Carmel, IN, Michael (Beth) Lamb of Milford, Milford, Jim Simmons, Estherville, David Simmons, Washington, DC, Glenn (Jackie) Simmons, San Francisco, CA, Jeanne (Steve) Martineau, Roseville, MN, Chad Geesman and Angela Page of Idaho. Floyd is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, his brother, Glen (Elsie) Lamb, Oglesby, IL, sister-in-law, Ruth Packebush, Milford, brother-in-law, Victor Wede, Pella, IA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wives, Margaret and Gladys, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Darrel, Delbert, Mildred Fliss, Vesta Tatman, and Thelma Hanson.
