Edna Holmen Edna Louise Holmen, the daughter of Edwin and Olive Kjos was born October 8, 1918 at Rushford, Minnesota. She attended grade school and high school at Rushford. On June 12, 1937, she married A. Norman Holmen. They lived and farmed in Lanesboro, Minnesota until 1957 when they purchased Kingwood Cottages in Arnolds Park. Edna was a homemaker, and worked beside her husband when they farmed and also when they purchased the resort. Edna passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at the Hilltop Care Center, where she had been a resident for the past three years. She celebrated her 86th birthday on the preceding Friday. All her children were home for her celebration. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Milford. Edna is survived by her four children and their spouses; Allan and Sharon Holmen of Arnolds Park, IA, David and Faye Holmen of Muskegon, MI, Larry and Sue Holmen of Longmont, CO and Sharon and Bob Kelley of Spirit Lake, IA; eight grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. Survivors also include one brother, Allen Kjos of Mankato, MN, brothers in law Morris, Henry and his wife, Marie all of Lanesboro, MN.
