Deloris Anderson Deloris Martha Anderson was born March 6, 1920 in Harris, Iowa the daughter of Cloid and Margaret (McNabb) Kness. She was raised and educated in Harris, where she graduated from Harris High School. Deloris worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Sioux City for twelve years, and worked as a welder/burner in a shipyard during WWII. She was united in marriage to Carl Anderson on November 20, 1948. The couple made their home near Harris, where they raised their family. Deloris was a member of the United Methodist Church in Harris, and was a member of the Woman’s Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Deloris passed away Friday, March 26, 2004 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at eighty-four years of age. She is survived by her husband, Carl Anderson; her children, Kathy Anderson Denny and her husband Bill, Stanley Anderson and his wife Alice (McFarland), Kurt Anderson and his wife Bonnie (Veenker) and Harold Anderson and his wife Nancy (Scheffler); daughter-in-law Glenda Watje Ihnen; seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren; sister Margaret Kness Wedeking and her husband Herman, brother Dale Kness and his wife Lavonne (Selberg), brother Harold “Bill” Kness and his wife Alice (McClintic), sister-in-law Carolyn Heiser Kness; several nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Kenneth Karl Anderson, sister Idelle Kness Clawson, brothers Lyle Kness and E. James Kness.
