Chris Thomas

Chris Thomas was born May 29, 1932 the son of Fred and George Ann (Sanders) Thomas in Des Moines, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Des Moines, graduating from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines. Chris then attended General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan.

Chris was united in marriage to Patricia Ann White on September 8, 1959 at Bainbridge, Georgia. The couple moved to Spirit Lake in June 1970.

Chris was a member of Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting and sports. He was a die-hard Green Bay Packer and New York Yankee fan. Above all, however, he enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.

Chris passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at seventy-two years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Thomas of Spirit Lake, Iowa; sons, Sam Thomas and his wife Doris and Mark Thomas and his wife Penny, both of Atlanta, Georgia, daughters, Kimberly Hanson of Arnolds Park, Iowa and Tricia Thomas of Spirit Lake, Iowa. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Megan, Paige and Jake Thomas of Atlanta, Georgia, and Kyle, Emilee and Jordan Hanson of Arnolds Park, Iowa; brother Fred Thomas of Texas; sister Patty Thomas Gardner of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, George Warren Thomas.
