Cory Bergendahl Cory Alan Bergendahl was born to Terry and Annette Lane Bergendahl on June 27, 1978 at Spirit Lake, Iowa. He graduated from Harris-Lake Park High School in 1997. He had lived in Rock Rapids with his fiancee’, Merridee Birkeland, and their daughter, Emma, since 2002 where he was employed in automobile sales. They attended the Tabernacle Baptist Church at George. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, reading books, playing UNO, and dodge ball with his daughter. He died at his home on March 7. Surviving are Merridee Birkeland and their daughter, Emma; mother, Annette Smith of Lake Park and father, Terry Bergendahl and his wife, Judy, of Lake Park; brother, Michael, and his wife, Shaela, of Lake Park; sister, Toni Nicks and her husband, Randy, of Lake Park; step brothers, Dale, Derrick, Daniel and Dustin Golden; grandparents, Don and Betty Lane of Lake Park and Jack and Carole Bergendahl of Lake Park; other family and many friends. Cory was preceded in death by an aunt, Nancy Bergendahl and uncle, Lyle Ahrens Cory loved spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
